Ok, my post was deleted. I replied to the email I got about it, but I'm posting too b/c I am really at a loss as to why my post was moved to the trash.
Sorry for the impatience and I guess this post can be moved as well if needed.

Am I not allowed to link to youtube.com?

Do people actually not know the connection b/t Dirk and this song/video?

Or am I completely missing something else? Just curious. If I'm wrong, then I apologize. Thanks.

Like I say, no big deal. Just wondering. I'm sure this post will be gone soon too

I've been listening to that song all day. It fucking rocks!

"I've been looking for FREEDOM.....I've been looking so long"

This is my new favorite song.

Ok, no more commenting on what Barkley and Kenny Smith say or any announcers. That all goes in chit chat as well. Can't post what song an athlete listens to here in sports. LOL.

BTW, I remember someone posting a thread "did Flip Saunders fall asleep in a tanning bed?"
I have no problem with that post, but whats the difference?

I honestly think that someone was living in a cave and didn't realize that when interviewed, Dirk was asked what goes on in his head when shooting free throws? He said, different things, sometimes songs including "Looking for Freedom" by Hasselhoff.

So, at least a couple nights, Kenny and Charles and others would play Dirk highlights alongside that "freedom" video.

Someone probably just thought I was saying that Dirk was German. I'm not that lame. Is it still "cool" to say "lame"???? LOL.......................

Useless threads on a message board? Especially THIS message board???? NEVER!!! LOL.
Give me a break.

Delete it then. Lets talk about Flip's tan.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/

if any of the newer users don't understand what a certain internet abbreviation like IBTL means, please visit here for answers. it's a lot easier than asking on here.

I didn't ask what it meant. I really don't care what it means.

I simply said that I don't know what it means. I was just hoping that would stop people from saying it to me.

Kind of like saying "I don't speak spanish" so that people will speak english to me. I don't speak dorkish so quit talking like a dork.

i was just trying to help ya out. internet message boards are becoming part of popular culture, so i don't understand how abbreviations for something could be considered dorkish. besides you used LOL in this thread, which came from internet speak. it's just that LOL is more popular. video games were once considered dorky, but now nearly everyone has played them, and knows of at least Super Mario Bros., Grand Theft Auto, and Madden.

IBTL stands for In Before The Lock. it's basically post-padding, in what that user considers a useless thread that will soon be locked.

and that class is today's modern internet culture lesson.

^ Brass, I didn't mean anything against you, and actually liked what you posted.

Was just more commenting towards people posting "IBTL" and noob, etc.

Yeah, you def. need to know the abbrev.'s (see what I did there)
Just get so sick of seeing someone with a million posts say "huh what a noob"
Kind of irritating, but also kind of amusing. Makes me LOL.
Its like they learned that word 3 years ago and think that anytime they disagree with something, they'll just call them a noob since they spend all day on the computer and have 50X more posts than someone.

Like I say, I don't care....but do appreciate your reply Brass.

And, if someone can please delete half of my posts, that would be great. Seriously.
Believe me, I will never "post-pad". I wish I had less.
Moderators, please delete half my posts. I don't want to call people noobs.
Off to shoot some basketball.
Can I say "basketball" in the sports section, or since I'm going somewhere, is that chit-chat?

oh i was just trying to help out. i definitely didn't take any offense. i once too was a "noob." i never understood why someone got so much self-fullfillness out of calling someone that. i try to help out the new people to the board whenever i can, b/c it'd be nice for them to stick around, instead of it just being the same old people over and over again. plus it's always good to have more people out there commenting on sports, especially during the summer when it can get kind of slow.
