They totally shaft you on the value of the clothes. They're very picky and you may get 1-2 bucks a shirt, and they turn around and sell it for 8-10 bucks. Goodwill has much better prices if you want to buy secondhand clothes.
Your best bet is to try to sell it in the News and Observer classifieds, or just give it away. 6/10/2006 6:00:55 PM |

I heard they are really strick with they buy from you but I was in there on thursday and all I saw was old shit from target laying around overpriced. And a few shirts that I looked at smelled weird. 6/10/2006 6:07:20 PM |

they are pretty strict about buying stuff. my old gf used to sell stuff and they are pretty picky. that said, why would you expect to get a lot of money for old clothes? 6/10/2006 6:54:08 PM |

They are really picky. Last winter, I tried to sell two pairs of jcrew jeans with tags. They refused them. 6/10/2006 9:48:52 PM |

i take my clothes to a consignment shop
they take everything, shoes, belts, purses, jewelry etc and give you 40% of whatever they sell it for
whatever they dont take, i drop off at goodwill
i get a check every 3 months and its usually about $100

I sell stuff there that I don't really care about getting money for. Everything else can be given to Abbeygail's Closet. They accept donations and all the proceeds go to benefit the Women's Center of Raleigh. Camille and the other ladies there are great. 6/10/2006 9:54:30 PM |

^ also known as "John the Bum."
He died a couple of years ago. He used to sleep under the back stairs of our frat house, waiting for someone to stumble in drunk and not close door behind him. The fucker made off with a bunch of shit several times. 6/11/2006 10:10:52 AM |
