Thinking about buying a 1999 or 2000 Acura RL. Does anyone have any insight or experiences with these vehicles. I've been doing my homework and found mostly good things.

Thanks.

I considered getting a 2000 or 2001 TL but would rather get an RL.

Isn't an old RL about the same as a new TL?

The RL is an okay car. it has its faults. The are pretty reliable. Not as reliable as the old school Legends though. I would also look at the 2002-03 Infiniti I35. about the same size as RL. Has a lot more power than the RL, and even has more features than the RL.

Maaaa has an RL and I have no complaints. For a daily driver you'll never need anymore power than it has in all seriousness. One of the most comfortable rides you can ever have on a long trip too.

Keep good tires on it, back end is really light.

i really like to drive them when going on long trips.

rather comfortable. rear seats have their own suspension.

What is your budget? I just recently got an 03 acura 3.2TL that's such a great DD. With a 3900 trade in, I got it for 15k out the door.

The trannys on TL's may be crappy only if you abuse it. I've only heard of problems when people use the manual mode, which is totally useless anyhow.

Do RL's have the shitty tranny that crapped out in my friend's accord and my other friend's CL?

I believe the v6 version of the accords was also plauged with the same transmission problems as TL's. btw, this only involves with the auto transmission, manuals are good.

uhhh, no. my wife did not abuse her car and never used the sport shift mode. we sold the car at 80K and 3 trannys later.
