Carolina is headed to the college world series. They beat us in every sport (except softball i think). I hate carolina, I hate them!!!!!!!! but what are they doing right?. Is it the coaches, the AD, the many sluts, or their attitude.? I really don't want this to be a bash State/Fowler thread and I'd rather hear why they are successful and maybe how we can take those things and improve them for us.....or, like in most threads, you can can tell me shut up and just say carolina is gay or something that.

you know we beat them in the ACC baseball tournament to go on to the ACC Championship Game. also all of our Spring athletics programs made it to the NCAAs. we had all three major sports teams make it to the NCAAs, which no other ACC school can claim. they had great pitching this year, which will get you very far in baseball. they had one of the best teams in the nation this year. last time i checked we had a pretty good team too that was consistently ranked in the top 25. we knocked out the defending national champion, Texas. we had some pitchers that were out that could have greatly helped us. stop bringing up attacks on the AD and saying State sucks. if you always look at the bad things, you'll never see the great things going on. State is doing considerably well in most sports. i wish we'd stop using Carolina as the measuring stick around here, and ditch the negativity. some of ya'll are turning into Red Sox type fans, which are the fans i despise the most. always saying the glass is half empty and complaining about how the Yankees or UNC is beating us. just go out there and support your schools teams and stop complaining about how it sucks to be a State fan and that UNC runs the media.

they're the damn darling institution of the state, and if you factor in all of the money they make from apparel alone, b/c it's thuggly fashionable to wear UNC stuff b/c Jordan went there, then you can see how State already has a disadvantage.

BrassMonkey, I agree with what you are saying, and that I thought I made it clear that I didn't start the thread to bash State. I just wanted to point out that obviously UNC was doing a lot things right( they beat us in nearly everything....except one baseball game and softball.)

As for the the "money" argument. I personally think that is crap. The fact that a lot of people buy UNC stuff/shit goes more towards the "perception" of carolina which you could argue leads to better recruiting, but State has incredible facilities........ in fact State probably has more money coming into the athletic department than Carolina(including private donations etc.)

I guess what I'm saying is that State athletics is a solid athletic program, but our rival is obviously doing things better. No, I don't think we should do things like them, but I do think its fair to compare ourselves to them, to better ourselves if nothing else.

Is this a rant? I apologize if so. The New Castle is kicking in.

John Bunting is a crook, liar, cheater, and a goon. Amato is only a goon, so he loses...of course we had a better year than UNC last year even after losing to them in football.

We got herbed in basketball, and Roy is a great coach....shit happens...he'll be dead in 20 years I cant wait!!!!!!!!

We got fucked by some umpires in baseball at UNC this year....I was there, I would know...but we pwned the #6 overall draft pick andrew miller for a 6 run win in the ACC tournament a few weeks ago. The UNC series was the turning point of our season from great to ...eh.

Stop bitching and just enjoy your sports. It sucks to lose to UNC all the time, but its still great to be in the ACC to watch the great competition with at least decent sports teams.

It is a rotation...after a while State will be kicking UNC's ass in all sports, this last rotation has just taken a long time and the ball has been in UNC's court for a loooong time

I work with the mother of Josh Horton (UNC shortstop... .407 avg for the year). I saw him in ESPN yesterday knock in a homer off a first pitch.

putting cartoons in their newspaper depicting Allah, subsequently resulting in protests from their muslim students and then causing one fundamentalist Muslim from Western North Carolina who is one of their own graduates to drive all the way to Chapel Hill and try to run down students in The Pit.

also building a stadium right in the middle of campus with next to no parking available, resulting in a stifling of any kind of tailgating culture possible.

ooh, and how can one forget claiming to be of superior intellect to their neighboring schools, yet instead of just creating bonfires and rushing the streets upon a major athletic victory, they do something of way greater intellect by creating small fires in the streets and jumping over them. thus resulting in miscommunication between the individuals jumping, and them colliding into one another and falling into the fire which resulted in said individuals getting 1st and 2nd degree burns.
