Relativity Technologies (http://www.relativity.com) is looking to hire someone with a BS degree in computer engineering or computer science with excellent communication & teamwork skills. The software package they make is a modernization tool for legacy applications...so clients load their source code and then they can perform tests/analyses on the code to make changing/updating/understanding it easier. It's the position I do now, but I just started, so I can answer some questions but not every question, by any means. They hired 4 of us to handle all the incoming business, but they had wanted to hire 5 originally. the pay is around 40k, but the hours will be massive.

I looked at this company (friend of a friend works there) but i didn't want to work the crazy hours. they say they will reward you nicely as you prove yourself and they have nice stock options. the company is like a 4 year old startup that is turning a profit now and they are on the edge of being bought out, so it could be a big pay off if you are willing to put in the time and can perform now.

it's 40k entry level. like i said, they reward you well as you prove yourself to them and their stock options are excellent. if you prove yourself in a few months you'll get a raise in a few months. you don't necessarily have to wait for yearly reviews.

when i was looking at them, i was told there was a guy there that doubled his salary in like two years. they sound like great people to work for and a real team oriented environment. I just didn't want to put in that many hours at this stage in my life.

I'm not trying to stir up too much BS or say this company isn't true to their word... but you better get a lot of damned good verification that you will have those rewards in the end if you want to work cheap and invest tons of hours. If they say you will receive reviews for potential salary increases, bonuses, stock options or whatever... I'd get SOMETHING in writing or they can very easily just stick it to you for awhile - fire you - hire another cheap entry grad - and repeat the process.

I only say this because I actually know some places currently doing this in order to keep their "nimble" appeal as a small company producing products fast without outsourcing anything. There are some damn good companies that stick to their word like hopefully this one does (I'm with one now) - but there are just as many who are out for the bang for the buck approach without caring .02 about you or your career.

well, i dont' know for sure as i never worked for them. i was just trying to express some of my impressions and give people some insight into the company.

you definately shouldn't take my word for it. go talk to them, send your resume, interview with them. your starting salary will probably be based on your education, experience, and potential. perhaps mine was lower than yours, but you will never know if you don't go talk to them yourself.
