What really sucks is there are TWO BOLTS that I cannot find. I hate this shit, and usually try to keep everything together...but goddammit, I can't find these TWO FUCKING BOLTS. They are the last two to go in the bellhousing, and I need 'em before I can jack up the goddam tranny and put the rear mount in.

Well all that shit is in. The last, most daunting task...it just so happens that I had to take the catalytic converters out (along with the downpipe, but that warnt no big deal) and broke two of the three pressed-in (now rusted in) flange bolts. Gotta get them out before I can finish this shit. Debating on whether or not to wait until about 8:00 so I can fire up the compressor and hit 'em with a cutoff wheel. Or hacksaw the damn things best I can now.

Other than that, the shifters are the only thing to do. This fucker is out of the garage this morning if I have my say.

I found the two bolts. On top of the tranny is where they ended up when I slid the bellhousing back. And that's where they were.

Good job man.

Just a tip that I've learned. When I start taking shit apart and there are a lot of different types of screws/bolts/hardware fittings, I put them all in different bins in a tacklebox tray. If its a big project I even put little stickie notes in the bins and label them. Another added bonus is that you can close the bins if you are taking a couple days to finish the project and not have to worry about bolts gone missin overnight.

i just usually remove the part, and put the bolts/screws back into their original hole. going back to put the part in, you have all the bolts where you need them, just hafta take em out, part in, bolts back in. but the tackle box is a damn good idea. i'll prolly do that sometime too haha

I'd have put the bolts with their brethren, had I had them in my hands. They were up there in the hidey-holes (the top bellhousing bolts), and I had loosened them with my trusty loooooong socket extension.

Will if you tear this clutch out, I'm gonna (a) charge you a LOT of money to do it again, (b) I'm gonna sit on the sideline and coach YOU through it, and (c) I'm gonna make you clean up my garage AND my bathroom.

If that's not enough incentive I'm gonna take you up to Butner and have you committed.

now if I can get Will to not get on it for a few hundred miles... we saw an SS and he was like "If this clutch had some more miles on it I'd run that thing"
