I am wanting a nikkor 18-70mm (the kind that comes in the D70s kit... normally 269.99-319.99) I have a sigma 15-30mm (retails for 469.99-499.99)
i am wanting maybe a switch plus $100
i'm doing it mostly because i want a wide angle lense but i also want the money. the 15-30 is a bit bigger than i want as well.

in retrospect i think it would be better to make an even trade
no extra money...
but the 18-70mm direct trade with my 28-200mm ED lense.
i think they are about at the same level price wise... my lense is in PREFECT condition. nothing on the glass... body is great... no dust in the lense or anything like that... not even old.
i still got the box and books and stuff... i haven't even used the lenshood(i just found it a week ago... oops) 6/21/2006 10:34:00 PM |

Do you use a filter on that lens to protect the front element, or can you? Or does the lens stick out too much for that? I read that the lens cap attaches to an 82mm ring and that the ring might cause vignetting at the widest angle if left on. Has that been the case for you? Otherwise it looks like an excellent wide zoom that I would love to try out. I have an 18-55mm Nikon DX (f3.5-5.6) that I would like to replace. 6/22/2006 1:20:45 AM |

HEY GUYS!
I'd totally be down for this, only I don't have Nikon.
Plus, Canon L lenses are far superior. 6/22/2006 2:07:32 AM |

^^i don't use a protective filter... basically because i constantly have a lensecap on it until it is in use... and i put it right back on. on a DSLR you'd be ok with the filter. with a film slr you are gonna get LOTS of vignetting at the wide angles unless you have the lense cap totally off.
^get your subjective canology outta here

bttt to say sorry bro, i'm thinking i wouldn't want that trade straight out. 35-70 doesn't really give me any wide angle. that is a good lens though i think... ED glass? 6/25/2006 10:32:46 PM |
