is there a way to get the credit card companies to stop sending me mail about applying for a credit card,
i probably get 3-4 letters from Chase a week, and i often get letters from A.E, Citibank, nations bank.besides being annoying its a liability having a bunch of credit card letters floating around puttin me at risk for identity theft.
if i haven't gotten their card after they sent me the first 200 offers then i probably not going to get one and they should stop wasting their money

I take the application, and write NO THANK YOU across it it a big black sharpie, then use their pre-paid return envelope to send it back to them...... That way they pay postage twice, and don't get out so cheap.
I get less than I used to, but still get at least one or two a week.... but no longer 3 per day
I can tell who sold my address and info b/c my card had my name mis-spelled.... and so do those offers.

I read something somewhere about taking all the offers you have and putting them into one of their envelopes and putting too many stamps on it...just like $0.01 too much. Then calling and demanding your $0.01 back. Anyone know what I'm talking about...I probably have it all wrong anyway. 6/26/2006 11:44:05 PM |

I just tear the offer in half and stuff it back in their envelope and send it back. The citibank ones have about stopped but it does take a month or so to see results. Just keep doing it. 6/27/2006 7:38:27 AM |

Must be the only one, but I like receiving these offers. Often, they are offering me free money (and I usually take it). 6/27/2006 10:22:41 AM |

speaking of credit cards...i saw a special the other night on 48 hours where some guy tore a credit card application into like 100 pieces, then taped it back together and filled it out and sent it in and they sent him a credit card...so be careful of how you dispose of those things... 6/27/2006 10:33:49 AM |

I've also seen sites where someone has filled in the app with their 5-6 year old's info and got it.
and even their dog's info, and still got it (applied as a legal alien). 6/27/2006 10:35:27 AM |
