I'm looking for songs like "Round Midnight" by Thelonius Monk, any of Miles Davis "Kind of Blue" Album and especially "Misty" performed by Stan Getz/Chet Baker. I know this is a specialized music niche, but I thought some of you might have some input.

I just meant the sound, like "Blue in Green" by Miles Davis... not his later drugged-out sound. I've tried that route, but thought someone might have a particular song in mind.

i love listening to Coltrane.. he has a lot of great upbeat stuff also but it doesn't sound like you are looking for that.
