holding off on seeing Superman cause I think IMAX showing of it would be more superior. Is it? I've never seen an IMAX movie before.

I went to go see the second matrix movie at imax which was a mistake because it's a shittastic movie and the oracle had some sort of wierd skin problem which was incredibly noticeable on that large of a screen

in general, though, imax is awesome

i saw superman last night at the imax downtown. there was only about 20 mins of 3d shit but the previews were the shit in 3d.

The IMAX theatre has to rank in my top 5 favorite things about Raleigh (which pretty much just means I think Raleigh sucks) but yeah, the IMAX is awesome, I am amazed everytime I go see a show there. The deep sea 3D is probably the best thing on there right now, but the Forces of Nature is spectacular as well. Just seeing the lightning storm inside the Cauliflower-type cloud from a volcano is worth the 7 or 8 bucks for the show. The real movies they play at the IMAX are usually decent, but the SHOWS are what make the IMAX great.

Summary: The IMAX is worth the $

my only concern w/ imax is if you dont get there early and get in the back two rows you will spend the whole time looking around and straining your eyes.

there is no way to watch the whole screen any closer than the back two rows

I work there and have watched almost every movie they've had there and my favorite place to sit is one seat off center and about the third row up from the entry level.

i don't think it's all that. i find myself being equally satisfied going to a normal theatre and saving a couple bucks. for me, it's akin to listening to music in a car with large amps and suped up bass as opposed to the way the mix was originally intended to be heard. plus, they usually have to cut scenes out and shit.

Actually, they haven't cut scenes since Star Wars II. The technology has improved since then.

Plus, with the movies in 3D, they're awesome. The Ant Bully is actually a good movie in 3D as far as entertainment, but I am looking forward to Open Season 3D even more.
