There's no way in hell I'd crawl under wood ramps. Fuck that shit. I even had a set of metal ramps from walmart collapse one time. Pulled a small truck up on them, and was gathering up my tools when BAMMM!. Another 5 minutes and my head would have been under that bitch. Always block your shit up, even on ramps.

We've got some old steel trailer ramps at the shop that work great. Another alternative is to find a hill and build two CMU walls, filled with concrete.

Heh, my head won't even fit under the Z sideways. Nor can I use ramps(the approach angle is too shallow).

Wood is stronger than you all think, hell you are probably in a wood building. Just make sure you brace properly and use high quality lumber and fasteners.

done plenty of work with wood and construction... i just dont want my car sitting over me with wood, that's all... cause i work in a metal shop, and steel would be my preference

i can't believe none of you assholes took woodworking in middle school 'cause if you did, you would know how strong that design really is.

heh, i dont guess we have any achitects in the garage, there is more weight in the buildings you live your lives in everyday that pointloads on less supported area than that ramp...

my point was that it could teeter over and run ur shit/slide it into whatever was in front. at least how that guy had it w/ no wheel chocks.

He says about 50 times how he is working on a better design for the wheel chocks and how you need to have some.
