Ok. I have a 01 Eclipse gt automatic.
Transmission already went out and got rebuilt in Feb.
Has a 18 month warrenty on it.
Well I noticed oil leaking, and then notice some slipping of the gears(sorry I dunno the technical lingo)
Well I got my car back today, and I was at a stop light and then my engine just died, the engine oil came on and the car was on but the rpm was 0 and it wouldn't go anywhere.
This has never happened, but when it drives it drives, only may have this issue at stops or when I slow down.
Its the weekend so I can't take the car back, so wanted to know what you guys thought.
Does it sound like the transmission or something else.

thanks for the help.

ya i know its annoying, engine isn't dead, I can drive the car but I got to quickly rev it and then quickly put it in drive, and that doesn't work all the time... I wanna make sure its the tranny and not another prob.

Doesn't sound like tranny to me. Sounds like Idle air control.

woops...UNLESS the torque converter is not unlocking when coming to a stop, and thus stalling the engine.

Do you have to keep the engine going with the gas pedal even when it's in park?

nope, it basically a little electronic vavle that regulates the air going into the engine at idle to keep it at the right rpm, kinda expensive, but easy to change

3G Eclipses have such shitty build quality

my buddy's rear main seal on his GT went out at 60k. I knew the manual gearboxes were kinda crappy but I had no idea the automatics were even worse
