So I've got a 1991 Nissan Pathfinder for sale, I'm asking $2400. I've had descent response to it (5 people called), but the milege obviously turns most people off from this thing. Any input on what I should ask/expect? It's in pretty good shape, and drives great. I drove 3 others before buying this one...

Here's the orig ad:

"Well maintained (have records) 1991 Pathfinder. 4x4 works (including low range). Shifts easily and smoothly, starts right up every time, etc. Power windows, ac, locks, mirrors. Fold down seats in the rear. Always in NC. I forgot to mention this earlier, it's a 5 speed manual transmission. Asking 2400 or best offer. Call anytime for details."
Thanks for any input.
PS: I also have a 262k mile 325i that I'm not selling, and it also drives awesome, if you can believe it. Might pick up a [much] lower mile M3 tomorrow, we shall see...

That's what I figured. It's also about what I have in it, looks like I need to wait for somebody who's not going to be like OMFG it's got 260k, it's gonna explode today! It runs/drives great, actually...

I mean, I bought this because you took my last car and my deal on an M3 fell through (well that and it was the coolest 4x4 I could find @less than $2500). Since I've also bought the 325 you saw me with (want to turbo it, let's see), but looking at another M3 tomorrow in Connecticut. So I may have 3 cars by the 4th, and that's getting to be a bit much.

My whole point w/the above was, unless it's for offroading, I don't have a desire or need to drive that thing. I doubt I'll put another 1k miles on it, even if it stays with me for a year. If I do pick up the M3 though, it'd be a cool 2nd vehicle I guess. I don't know, I like them all in weird ways (the cheap/tough thing is nice, so are cheap parts at any parts store, BMWs aren't like that), just don't want 3 cars...

Why don't you give the mileage in the ad? I wouldn't pay more than $1500 and only because it's 4wd.

I wouldn't drive to Connecticut to look at a car. I'm going there to visit my sister with my dog. I'm going to look at a car while I'm there. If I like it, I'll either have it shipped, or drive that car down and fly back to pick up the car I drive there when I get a chanse. I've flown over 800 miles to look at a car before, but never driven more than 150 or so.

I would consider $1500 (even though I'd be loosing quite a bit of money if I sold it for that much, a first for me in over 5 years), only because I don't want to have 3 cars again...

Also, I will put the milage in the ad next time, it appears it'd save some time for all parties involved.

I'd say if it runs fine now and all the proper maintence has been done, then asking 2400 obo isn't that bad. I've seen toyota's as old as that with as much or even higher milage that have been asking 3k+.

toyotas have an outstanding track record of 1, not being pieces of shit, 2, running forever. nissan can only claim #1, and only on select models

I always thought Isuzus were cool too, didn't see many for sale... I'd be happy with about $2k from this thing. Hopefully somebody will offer me that, soon...

The M3 didn't work out yet, the seller is a bit flakey (suprise suprise)...

The 325 is black, I already have an offer of $2k, but I don't really want to sell it, especially if I'm not buying another M3. Now if you want to help me sell the Pathfinder...
