I'm actually excited to see this game, to see how Nadal fares against Federer on a surface that is not clay. Federer has lost 4 matches this year, all to Nadal, all on clay, all for tournament championships. He's gotta be really amped for this match. They are just dominating the field right now and they are a great rivalry for the game. Can this be Sampras/Agassi II, only at a higher level of tennis? We may be seeing these two going at it for titles for a loooong time (nobody else is even close).

seriously...that thread is talking about just this.

If you simply wanted to debate who is better, you could possible make a thread...

...but in terms of making a Wimbledon Championship thread on TWW, we should be happy with a realitively successful 4 page thread on the topic.

stick to that thread and stopp clogging the only forum I care about in this hell hole.

I wouldn't go so far to say that packman. nadal had some really close calls in some of his matches. sure they are both dominating, but the other players are closer than ya think

i don't think anyone is even close to being as good as these guys. I see them dominating the finals for a long time. Fed is only 24 and Nadal is 19. I think they have a lot more tennis in them and we should be seeing many more of these threads lately.

Federer is a complete player. Maybe the best ever.

Nadal is a clay court pussy.

That is all.

The men's draw is weak enough where Nadal may have some moderate success on courts other than clay. I'm not ready to put him on the same level as Federer. There's always a flash in the pan clay court specialist who wins the french a few times and goes on to overachieve on other surfaces. Look at Gustavo Kuerten.

Then again, I haven't watched alot of tennis since Sampras and Graf left the game so I'm mostly talking out of my ass.

im thinking its going to be a good match but i really see federer winning in 3... He has had a heck of a hard draw and has completely rolled through everyone. Nadal is a great player and apparently he can play on grass, but i dont think he has quite as much game as federer does on grass. Whatever the outcome, i see this being a classic match and im looking forward to it.

he's definitely not a clay court specialist.

Clay court specialist infers you only win on clay. Nadal can beat ANYONE on ANY surface right now...

At worst he's the undisputed 2nd best player in the world right now and he's arguably the best...

good for Federer, this makes a possible rubber match in the US Open really intriguing....

Nadal impressed me again today he played Federer pretty tough on his best surface... he's just an absolute machine on grass

yes i agree, but there is something to be said for a girl who completely lets herself go and lives off of you. With as many hours as he has to practice you think she could find time for a gym instead of living off toaster strudels and little debbie chocolate snacks.

No doubt she should try to stay in shape but until this year she handled all of his off the court business so she's not just some hanger on bimbo (I.E. Hewitt's baby momma).

to be fair, most of his losses to nadal were on clay...

nadal missed a lot of the hardcourt season and doesnt usually advance far enough on grass to meet up with federer...

^yep all but 2 i think, fed is definately the best all around player, but nadal can prove a lot if he goes far in the US Open. proves Wimbledon wasnt a fluke.

by the way this is the worst mens tennis has been in my lifetime. Besides these 2, there is no one worth a shit

i wouldnt necessairly agree with that... Federer is one of the all-time greats and Nadal is quickly becoming a great player...

There is a ton of depth in the men's draw right now... i just think those two are on a different level than everyone else and it makes the others look comparatively weak...

Blake, Nalbandian, Baghdatis, lbujcic, etc are all very strong players...

^and none have ever won.....anything (worth a fuck).

I agree. This is the worst mens tennis has ever been. Their may be depth, but depth in the sense that there are lots of consistently good players, but not player that could win a slam, or a final against either of these two.

We're looking at potentially the most dominant all around tennis player ever and the most dominant clay court player ever simultaneously...

they are seriously THAT good... just because Tiger Woods was absurd ~5-6 years ago doesn't mean the rest of the tour sucked...

eventually others will emerge that can beat them, they just have to figure out how first...
