When I buy the car, can the owner just sign his title over to me? or we have to go to the DMW to get it notarized? I'm asking this because I'm buying this car from pretty far away. 7/10/2006 8:07:20 PM |

I'm pretty sure it has to be notarized. I don't know if you can get notaries at the DMV, but banks should do it

seriously, wtf is going on? you've been making threads about buying a car for like 6 months or more.
only the owners sig. is notarized, so technically they can just do that for you during the week then give you the title to sign when you please. i don't see why it matters though, you'll have to take time off during the week anyway to get the title transferred and new registration/tags issued. 7/10/2006 11:27:08 PM |

^yea, i've been looking for a car to buy for the last 3 months or so. Haven't found the right one though. Looks like I have to take a day off. I'm just trying to see if there's any option on the weekend. 7/10/2006 11:46:24 PM |
