So I am selling a car I have and was wondering how do you handle letting someone take it for a spin or having it looked at by a mechanic?

Do I meet them at a mechanic of their choice? Do I ride with them when they test drive it?

Never sold a car or bought one private party so I am just wondering.

always ride with them on a test drive.

There was a guy in SoCal who let some dude test drive his VX while he held his driver's license.

Well turns out the license was fake, and the VX was never seen again.

yes, go with them on the test drive. (if they get offended, then they aren't serious about buying it anyway so fuck 'em.)
if they want to take it to their mechanic, set up an appt. and bring the vehicle there.
