If anyone is looking for a wonderful opportunity to intern, I know of one that is easy, fun, and helpful. I interned with Artsplosure this year and was unpaid but made a wonderful portfolio and have great references and friends now because of it. They are in need of an intern for event planning type duties for First Night so if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll put you in touch. More details to come. I used my internship for COM 496 and received an A. 7/12/2006 3:08:07 PM |

A little more info. PM for the e-mail address if interested!
First Night Raleigh Internship
The intern could assist with the following depending upon their time commitment:
Co-organizing the People’s Procession (parade) with the Program Manager Preparing button sales kits to go to retail outlets Coordinating Food Vendors with the Operations Manager Collecting/Formatting images and info to be used on the web site Editing/Proofreading Preparing craft materials for the Children’s activities Assembling Sponsor and donor gifts Mass mailings and other office duties as needed Please note:
First Night Raleigh is a New Year’s Eve Celebration of the Arts in downtown Raleigh, held annually on December 31. It would be ideal for the intern to be available December 28 through January 5 in order to be present before, during, and after the event; our busiest times.
Personally, I know the folks from Artsplosure and they help you build a kick ass portfolio along with a wide array of skills. You also learn a lot of different programs. Not much of the work is "bitch work" and it is mostly fun and entertaining if you're willing to help on New Year's Eve. Again, let me know if you're interested. 7/18/2006 8:13:47 PM |
