I have some fairly decent birch or oak plywood (i forget which), that was originally intended for a desk that never got finished (although it's been cut and put together as a desk once).
I'm looking for someone who could-
Come to my apartment on the NE side of Raleigh Bring their own tools and cut some of this wood to make shelves for me to put on a wall (the rectangular kind you have triangle pieces in a wall to support- which i'll buy at the hardware store or if you can cut those as well, bonus).
Basically you need to be able to cut straight lines.
If you have a router and could round off the edges on 3 sides- even better. (Otherwise I'll find one as I've worked with a table mounted one before).
All other finishing work such as drilling any holes, sanding, staining, painting, or mounting I will do myself.
I'm not entirely sure how many shelves could be made out of the wood, but it shouldn't be too many (10-15 at most).
Reply or PM with what you can do and how much you want for it. 7/13/2006 2:05:34 PM |

if all you want is some wood cut, you can bring it to me and i'll cut it on my table saw to your measurements. I live in durham though. if you have a drill and the ability to hang the shelves, then all you really need is someone with a table saw and it would be much easier to take the wood to the saw than to bring the saw to the wood. 7/13/2006 4:19:31 PM |

buy a hand saw from lowes. use a tape measure(also avail. at lowes) and figure out how long you want the shelves. measure, and mark the wood(pencil will do) in a straight line(ruler). cut wood with handsaw. mount shelves. return saw to lowes. ^unless the shelf material is wider than needed, i.e. you have 4x8 sheets...if so, call the dude in Durahm.

I think it's $0.50 a cut at lowes. 7/13/2006 6:48:02 PM |

i mean i guess someone could come out there with a circular saw and get it done, but it'd take 1/10 the time using a table saw. 7/13/2006 10:05:35 PM |
