So I've got an old zippo-type lighter that use to be my grandfather's with the name and picture of his old tractor business on it that I want to get fixed. Everything on the outside is fine, but I think the "wheel" on the inside is broken...and as far as I know that is all that's messed up.

I'd like to get it fixed and restored. I called a local cigar shop and they said that I would probably have to send it back to the manufacturer. It's not zippo brand, but I did call them and they gave me the number to this guy in friggin NY who repairs all types of lighters.

Bottom line is that I don't feel like shipping this lighter all the way to NY to get it repaired. Are there other places that can fix lighters?? I live in a relatively big city (Charleston), so if there is a store that does this, I could probably find it. Also...could I just buy a cheap Zippo and repace the whole inside of the lighter with it?? The outside of the lighter is the important part.

If the zippo innards will fit in the casing, then thats the way to go.
