the new president comes out and says "ok. past us administrations were wrong. were not backing israel anymore" and started working pro-palastinians and pro islam. it would be in our best interest to become allies with the arabs instead of the jews. we give them a little military aid to = the jews and then take a hands off aproach and let them settle things.

we would never have to worry about terrorism or oil prices again.

Doubtful. Many of the Muslim governments and political parties stay in power by espousing populist sentiments. If there is still hatred and animosity amongst the people, it will be evident in their government. John Adams was a Unitarian. Jefferson once wrote to him about his wishes to join such a deistic church. Since there was no UU church in Virginia at the time, Jefferson attended an Episcopal one in the meantime.

So yes, Adams and Jefferson were Unitarian deists, much like Thoreau.
