What a stupid thread, 5 bucks is standard (ever been to a kegger before). If your 25 and your friends think 5 bucks is too much then wow.

If you have 20 people pay 5 buck = 100 bucks.
Which will get you a shit keg, shell, ice and cups. If you want anything other than PBR, bud light or busch, either invite more people or prepare to lose some $$ 7/18/2006 5:23:30 PM |

From plently of experience, and mostly just trying to break even. With 20 people I would charge $5 like eveyone else says, you wont go broke, and your prob break even, but i highly doubt you'll make money...unless like you say your hot.
It usually takes 50+ ppl at a party to make money when u consider buying to cups, ice, etc., and thats when we discout cups to $3.
Hope this helps. 7/18/2006 5:55:42 PM |

If you're going to the "party," print this and put it in your pocket...... Entrapment In criminal law, an affirmative defense created either by statute or by court decision which excuses a defendant from criminal liability for crimes induced by certain governmental persuasion or trickery. The prevailing "subjective" view of entrapment requires that the particular defendant demonstrate that but for the objectionable police conduct, he would not have committed the crime. This means that the predisposition of the defendant to commit the offense must be balanced against the police conduct to determine whether the police can be said to have caused the crime. The "objective" test favored by only a minority of the U.S. Supreme Court justices in 1932 and again in 1973 (but recommended by the Model Penal Code 2.13(1)(b)) looks solely to the police conduct to determine if an ordinary, law-abiding citizen would have been persuaded to commit the crime.

Charging for cups/beer/watever is against the law and you risk arrest for doing it. It's classified as selling alcohol without a license. I know everyone does it, but you at least need to be informed of the risks. More so considering that you've announced your plans to break the law on a public message board. Good luck with the party and watch your corn hole should you end up in lockup. 7/20/2006 5:19:59 PM |

It's barely a coincidence that the justice system has to frequently reign in the police tactics used by law enforcement in the State of North Carolina. I enjoy watching people continue to push the limits. It can be quite embarrassing when people blow the whistle on underhanded methods.

Yeah, it is. Once you reach a certain age, you start to appreciate the fact that you can entertain people in your home, and enjoy their company instead of worrying about if you're going to break even on a keg. To be even more poignant, $150 is not a lot of money for one person to spend to entertain people in their home, a 20 person gathering isn't a keg affair, and it certainly isn't an affair you charge $5 a cup for. 7/21/2006 7:14:01 AM |

its nice to be out of school and not be poor anymore.
when we have parties, we dont charge anything. its less hastle, and we'll be repaid by going to other parties and not paying.
^agreed.

i feel the same...but i dont think its about age. there are plenty of 25 year olds that are still in school that can't afford $150. theres nothing wrong with charging if you can't afford it.
