Holy fucking shit, people. A/Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra with Tra-La-La Band and Choir will be performing in DC at Black Cat on Wednesday, August 2nd. They're one of my favorite bands, but I never thought I would see them live, no less on the day after one of Sleater-Kinney's final shows before breaking up.

But yeah, I appreciate the offer. I'd go with you guys, but I have a need deep down inside to see Sleater-Kinney one more time. My show partner bailed on me for S-K, but I'm willing to go it alone for two shows if need be. Because I'm hardcore like that.

just got back from the show.

wow.

dont miss black ox orkestar. quite impressive conglomeration of traditional hebrew songs performed in many different styles. members of asmz.

thee silver mount zion memorial orchestra with tra-la-la band and choir played from about 1010 until about 1145.

came back, and did "theres a river in the valley made of melting snow" as an encore.

really spectacular show, despite the venue not having AC and it being about 110 degrees in the building.

they played 2 new songs, one of which has some of the most phenominal drum work ive ever seen.

horses in the sky is my favorite album, and that's pretty much all they played from.

they changed up parts of the songs. most for the better, some i didn't like.

show was incredible. hot as fuck though.
