putting a duramax in a tahoe is stupid. we have 2 diesel surburbans they're based on the 2500 series of GMC. You have to have the extra suspension in the front for the weight of the motor itself. What they need to do (ford or gm) is put a 6 or 5cyl version of their diesels or someone elses in their suv- or lest say an f150. it would get mad fuel economy and utility/municiaple/coroporations would eat it up. Take the freightliner/dodge spring w/ its 5cyl benz diesel it get 21mpg city or highway... wtf can't you put that in a 150!?!?!?! You'd be averaging 25-30mpg it pisses me off so much

ford was going to build a 6 cylinder but version of the 6.0 then they canned it.

well i am glad you think its stupid. i am also glad having 2 diesel suburbans makes you the grand poohbahh of knowledge on them. i would guess most people know you need the 2500 suspension at minimum for the motor weight. i have had a 5.9 cummins in 2500 p/u as a dd and have a 5.9 cummins in my bus/tow rig now, yet i am glad i dont think of myself as self important fuck who cant think beyond the box like your self. you would think someone like yourself who has been around so many large trucks you would not be so closed minded.
consider this....maybe someone would like a duramax in a tahoe because, like me, they have a tahoe they drive every day and like the comforts that the tahoe offers, but after driving a diesel every day they miss the power. maybe they dont want the extra length of a suburban. quite possibly someone may really like the tahoe and just want a powerplant they like in it. i dont know, maybe the idea isnt so stupid if you look beyond the obvious of no 2500 tahoe.
and as far as what they need to do... they need to weed out fuck sticks like yourself from the gene pool so we dont have to listen to them put down other people for having a dream.

International already makes it. You can get it with the 4200 rolling chassis. The only reason they must have decided not to use it in the F150 would be NVH. But I'd buy it.
