Looking for a $100-150 AGP video card for a desktop gaming system. Perusing tomshardware seems to suggest that the x1600 might be a good choice for this niche? Any other suggestions? Or do you have a recommendation for a particular manufacturer for the x1600 chipset? Newegg has a couple of decent looking cards in this price range from this chipset:

Should I really be concerned about this cards overheating/requiring additional cooling accomodations?

Thanks

Go get the X850pro or X800 alot better then the x1600. http://shop.ati.com/searchresults.asp?dept_id=39. Even though some of the link may say refurbished most of the time it is new when you buy them or at least every time since i asked people. And it is in your price range. Oh I think the code for free shipping is ship4free but not exactly sure i'm pretty sure you can find it on google or slickdeals.

I don't know of any true list that orders them in power because different card perform differently depending on games and benchmarks. This site does ok with lots of different test with the latest cards. So look at all the test and compare cards. http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html

^Can't believe I totally missed that. Did they just add the rebate? I should have waited 5 days to buy a card
