I've got a copy of ACID, but haven't used it yet. My buddy uses it though and played me some songs he remixed/wrote on it. It seemed to be a pretty sweet setup....thats my 2 cents anyway. 7/27/2006 3:32:54 PM |

Yeah, I have a lot of experience with acid. Its interesting to mess around with, but after a while, I think your "vision" or whatever goes beyond the capabilities of the program itself. Fruity loops, though Ive never used it myself, seems like a free alternative (or at least I think its free), but some of the demo loops and shit that Acid comes packed with are useful. Bottom line is, you're gonna want to be able to create your own loops and beats to really go very far with a program like Acid. Ive also heard from another guy I know whos into stuff like this that Cubase is really good, and lets you do a lot more effects and fluid loop modifiers from within the program. 7/30/2006 2:10:00 AM |

I only wish Fruity Loops would let you do chords easily. I don't want to have 3-5 instances of each plug-in I want to make chords with. 7/30/2006 2:46:28 AM |

^you must be doing something wrong or be using a plug in that is monophonic
I do chords all the time on a single instance of the vst. 7/30/2006 3:28:06 AM |

I was always plugging away in Cakewalk when I wrote things.
I just didn't have much use for loops. 7/30/2006 3:55:39 AM |

I use it to make drum tracks using Drum Tools, then record bass lines and mix on to a CD for guitar practice. 7/30/2006 9:06:21 AM |

ACID's ok. It mainly uses loops though. What are you trying to do? Are you making music from sampled instruments? loops or editing music you already have? I have alot of them. Hit me up if you want and i'll try to help you out if i can. 7/30/2006 6:40:00 PM |
