So I just found out im going (hotel has already been paid for) so kinda pumped. Ill finally get to see Broken Social Scene/Stars and Flaming Lips Live. I figure Ill skip Built to Spill since they are playing in raleigh this fall. Pumped about New Pornographers, Mates of State, Wilco, Andrew Bird, My Morning Jacket, and the Shins. I wonder if the Frames are any good live. hmmmmm...Anybody else going?

I think i saw The Frames a few years ago and I think for one song the singer put a sack over his head with a skull face drawn on it.

I'm not sure about this.

i was offered free tickets but it's too expensive for a flight up there
my girlfriend's sister manages a bloomingdales in chicago and lives in a building overlooking Grant Park, where it's going to be held.

^Sure enough. I don't remember them being a part of the tour but I just checked up on it. For me that doesn't make it a notable step up either way.

^You must have missed the first 4 years or so. Plus wasn't Lollapalooza one of Soundgarden's last tours?

^oh Sonic Youth skull fucks every band the grunge area spit out. And one could debate that no one would even give a shit about grunge if it wasnt for Sonic Youth.

If you miss Sleater-Kinney, you deserve to die.

They will rock your fucking ass off, and to a greater degree than they would have in the past.

Im posting from the AT&T building at Lollapalooza waiting for andrew bird, shins, and then Broken Social Scene. I got some good pics of the flaming lips yesterday but ill just say that My Morning Jacket gave the most amazing performance. GODDAMN they are amazing live.

Save your money, the lineups a load up of newage rebel caca, (and kanye west?) except for Queens of the stone age, what are they doing around these faggots? This association is dropping them like a bomb.

I stayed as far away from this event as possible.

I've never seen so many slackers in their flip-flops and band shirts in my LIFE.... and that was just on the train ride to the Roosevelt stop (I went down to 79th to visit a friend this weekend).

slackers, lol

it was a lot of PEOPLE undoubtedly...some slackers, some whores, some nerds, and certainly some of the smartest people in all of Chicago

stereotypes will rape your puppies

Top 3 Shows that I saw:
1. Broken Social Scene Apparently everyone from the band was there but were only allowed to play for 45 minutes since the RHCP had to go on at 815 (of course they didnt start til 835). Everyone stayed for 20 minutes trying to get them to play at least one more song. They actually came out with their instruments but the stage manager told them not to play anymore.

2. Flaming Lips The opener Race For The Prize was the best song I heard over the weekend. Wayne so stepped on me in the bubble !

3. My Morning Jacket
