They give you a way to give them your credit card info from inside the dashboard, but no way to cancel it.

What the hell is this? I didn't expect this from Microsoft.

beware!

when you cancel your gold sub. your profile will be rendered useless, ie. all of your saves under that name will be obsolete.

^ Think so, it's a scam to make you not cancel.

With things like this I always go the pre-paid route, escp. since the 1-year card is the same price; just order one from Amazon and keep your CC info away from the M$

yeah but they could still delete your saved games if your prepaid subscription ran out.

this is ridiculous...I wanted to get Live for just a month.

Target has a few leftover xbox live 12 month memberships from the old system on clearance for $34... much better than the $49.99 for the new ones. Oh, this was at the one on Capital... on an endcap in the CD/Book area.
