Anyone who has taken the class in the past or is currently taking the class----what do you know about the videos? I'm working on the essays and I was wondering if it would just be a lot better to follow the course notes or work with the videos? Also, how long are the videos?

watch the videos and take notes simultaneously. the notes outline things in the order he lectures on them, and you just write in key notes/stories.

the essays come straight from his notes. once you watch the videos/take notes, the essays are extremely easy.

jcash, how long do the essays have to be. i am really not feeling writing 55 of them... seems like the important stuf for a lot of those questions is about 2 sentences long...

true, the essays are actually more like short answers that can be answered in 1-2 sentences directly from the notes. however, every semester ive done a huggard d.e. (305, 225, 425) the ta (arman) has said that essays that show extra effort will receive extra credit.

hes never said how much extra credit you get, but you may want to consider it if you dont feel really comfortable w/ the material. it does also help you study some for the test.

I appreciate the feedback JCash....what would you say the finals are like? are they more from the review sheets or the essays? a combination? and how have you done in his classes b/c I was thinking of taking another one of his online classes...thanks

the final is a combo. the review sheet contains some test questions, but the review sheets cover a lot of stuff not on the test. a lot of the essays cover the basics of what you need to know.

the thing that sucks about the de classes is that you get 1 test instead of 3-4 in the regular class. so an entire class worth of material is put on like 50 questions, meaning you may know a lot of stuff that isnt mentioned at all. i do feel like every test question was covered somewhere in the notes though.

305 - A+, 225 - A, 425 - A+
another advantage to this class is that if you do well compared to other students you will benefit from the curve the most. 225 is an excellent class to take if you know nothing about personal finance (investments, retirement, insurance, etc.). if you dont do well w/ his type of class, audit it.
