Email from my rescue organization-- from a nursing home
I wish one of his family members would take the cats, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Subject: Home needed for 2 cats

Hello Friends of Assisted Moving -

We have a client with a problem that I am hoping one of you can help with.
Mr. G. will be moving within the next ten days to the assisted living wing
of the nursing home where his wife resides. He has two beloved cats for
whom he would like to find a new, loving home. Mr. G. and his sons have
tried to place the cats with friends and acquaintances but have had no luck.
They and we have contacted local shelters and rescue organizations only to
find that the rescue organizations do not accept personal pets, and while
the county animal shelter will accept them, that is an "iffy" situation.
His sons tell me that Mr. G. is refusing to move unless and until a home has
been found for the cats. Mr. G. needs round-the-clock care, and it had
taken a while for his sons to convince him that the move was in his best
interest. So that's the background.

Here's some information about the cats in question:

Kudzu is a neutered male, 11 years old. He resembles a Norwegian Woods Cat,
is white with black spots, and has long, silky hair and a pink nose. He got
his name because he was a climber as a kitten.

Lilly Pearl is a spayed female, 6 years old. She is white with a gunmetal
gray saddle on her back. She is shy, but lovable when she gets to know
someone.

Both cats have microchips implanted in them for lost pet registration, and
are up-to-date on all their shots and vaccines. They are not de-clawed, but
their claws have been trimmed monthly. They like to play with one another.
I'm told they are "scaredy-cats" - they hide under a bed when company comes,
and they are not used to children. I do not have a picture of them.

So, is there anybody out there who could provide a permanent or foster home
to these two cats? The move will be difficult for Mr. G., but it would go
much better if he knew that Kudzu and Lilly Pearl had a new home.

Please let me know if you have any interest. Thank you for considering
this.

I would love to help but those cats would be totally traumatized living in my house.
