May be as clutch of a player as I've seen. Definitely deserves the AL MVP if Boston makes it to the playoffs. 7/31/2006 10:28:08 PM |

He is a freaking machine. Opposing pitchers KNOW it's over if they face him in the 9th or later.
I've never seen anything like it. 7/31/2006 10:30:28 PM |

I dont care if the bases are loaded, if it's the ninth inning and you're up by more than one run, you better walk him or he's going to win it. It's not a coincidence that he does this WEEKLY. 7/31/2006 10:34:42 PM |

he's got lots of energy in the later innings from not playing over half the time

no, no, no, no
in NO situation do you ever intentionally walk in a run. there are far too many things that can happen--yes even with your god david ortiz--that would not lead to runs.
he does not do it WEEKLY--Quote : | "Ortiz, who also hit a solo homer in the third, got his second game-ending hit in three days and fifth of the year." |

I LOLed but it might have some truth to it. Unlike other players chasing down balls and diving for it, he is sitting there. But yes I would still give him the MVP right now.8/1/2006 8:48:55 AM |

David Ortiz is 5-for-15 with no homeruns or extra base-hits off of rivera.
Yea it is a .333 batting average and he had a hit off of him in the ALCS, but he doesnt hit the ball hard off of him....almost noone does.8/1/2006 9:04:42 AM |

this game was great to watch...I had a weird feeling he may do it again and it was just nuts when he hit that. crazy stuff, MVP for sho
and if there's anyone I'd say wasn't on 'roids, it's Papi. I could be VERY wrong, but I highly doubt it. 8/1/2006 12:35:56 PM |

5-for-15 is not pwnage. it is such a small sample size that it is some measure of success...
if he was 8 or 9 for 15, that would be pwnage. 8/1/2006 7:04:42 PM |

^ Exactly... 4-for-15 is a .267 batting average! Is that pwnage...? No, then would 1 hit separate pwnage from not pwnage? Probably not. 8/1/2006 7:15:50 PM |
