Has anyone tried this? I have DUN enabled on the phone, and I try dialing #777 through the Bluetooth DUN COM port on my computer. The phone dials the number, and while dialing displays “Calling 3G 1X Data” as if it were working. It then displays "Connected as data modem to <Computer's Bluetooth Name>". After 2 seconds the phone hangs up and Windows gives Error 678- The remote computer did not respond.

I’ve double-checked, and I know this is the correct number for Sprint. I’ve used it in the past with a different phone and Datapilot.

have you read up on the phone yet - i've been using #777 for years now - but a lot of the new phones don't support it anymore - once sprint started moving towards "power vision" they stopped allowing a lot of phones to use it - what specific phone model do you have?

http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=deskbar&q=site%3Ahowardforums.com+lx350+%23777

the first 2 links look promising - have you tried searching/reading howardforums.com/sprintusers.com?

sounds like your problem is normal and expected behavior - if you need #777 then you need a new phone

^^^Thanks for the link. I had searched a couple of forums, but hadn't found anything that specific. That is exactly what I'm seeing.

because you sure are contributing to this thread jackass-hypocrite. do you want me to dig through your posts to find when you've made jokes in legitimate threads? (and i don't even really think this was much of a joke, more just how i read the thread topic to begin with)

the guy was commenting on the word dun. why you gotta give him a hard time.

[Edited on August 1, 2006 at 8:53 PM. Reason : who cares if he doesn't know what it stands for. that wasn't his point]

he put it in all caps - it was clearly dial up networking - that was a great chit chat response - nothing more

[Edited on August 1, 2006 at 8:55 PM. Reason : then why even post - just save the typing]
