how come no matter what office or department i try to call on campus, no one ever answers the damned phone, or else it is busy? Registration, Cashiers Office, my advisor, the main biology major department, the transportation department. Is there a certain time to call when I might actually get some help for the god damned $5,000+ I pay in tuition here every year? 8/1/2006 2:56:01 PM |

...I have never had this problem
for the record, tuition and fees per year, for an instate undergrad, don't even total 5K...never mind tuition alone. 8/1/2006 3:01:28 PM |

Eh, a rough estimate of $4,600 is close enough. It's still unacceptable. Last fall in my bio lecture hall, a buncha the seats were broken, missing, or didn't have desks, so Dr. Beckmann told us to write nasty letters to the Provost or something saying for as much money as we pay, we should have desks. A few people did it, and they were fixed. I'm trying to get shit with my tuition bill figured out, they sent me a paper bill saying I owe $700something and that its due tomorrow, and then when I went online to pay it, it said I owe the whole amount for the semester which is like $2,400 TODAY.
I don't think they are on summer vacation - why else would the phone be busy? Anyways, kudos to the Transportation Dept. for sending me a beer kuze with "NCSU Transporation" printed on the front. 8/1/2006 3:08:36 PM |

I called the Cashier's office today at 11:30 or so and someone answered. I waited about 3 minutes before someone answered, though. What exactly happens when you call? If you want someone to answer your call right then without having to wait a few minutes, that's probably not going to happen, but other than that you should be fine. 8/1/2006 3:16:44 PM |

yup, i called at like 3 and had to wait about 5 minutes but still got through to someone.
I had the same problem with my bill. One place said I owed $5 tomorrow, another said like 1300 today. But when I called I really owed like 700 tomorrow. And it isn't a big deal if you didn't get ahold of them today. They give you a few day grace period before you are dropped from your classes.8/1/2006 9:30:12 PM |
