a friend of mine has a 99 Ranger that needs a power steering pump. I have one off of an 83 crown vic that is good. the napa online site does not list the same part # but the pumps look very similar and I know that Ford ps pumps interchange a lot. does anyone know if I can use the old pump on the newer truck? I doubt it, but it's worth a try. I've worked on a lot of Fords, but not one that new.

I highly highly doubt that it will work.

different internals, pressure and relief settings, plus the shaft is a little too short for the new style mount and serpentine pulley, just bite the bullet and buy one
