Where have the commercials been? I had no idea the new seasons had started until I saw a commercial on Spike.

The movie was good. The show started out good, but went downhill quick. Atlantis has taken a sharp downhill turn too.

Yeah it's bad but not as bad as other shows... Farscape, Babylon 5, Enterprise. It's almost as if they are trying to kill the genre.

My reason for starting this thread was not to debate the obviously lessening quality of the shows.

It was to ask if there were other people out there that would have been watching the show for the past few weeks but didn't know that it had started back.

Basically I'm asking if the SciFi channel did a poor job of advertising, or if I did a poor job of paying attention?

FWIW, I watched the first 3 episodes of SG-1 and they weren't horrible. Yes the show is very different from where it started out, and RDA will always be missed, but I kinda like the space battle stuff.

I thought the movie was good, but it's been a while since I've seen it. I guess I'd need to go back and watch it again.

How long has SG1 been on the air? About ten seasons now, right? I haven't watched it consistently, but from what I've seen it's good. But I'm getting the feeling that it's been on the air for far too long and needs to be put down. Hell, even Richard Dean Anderson isn't on the show anymore, and he was one of the main characters!

SG-1 has been on the air for 10 seasons. This is the start of the 3rd season for Atlantis. Right around season 9 RDA left the show and they started using alien technology to make large spaceships and essentially the show became largely based around space battles. The show is definitely different from when it started, but it's not as bad as some people are making it out to be.
