this one falls right into the dollar-fitty theater. funny enough to see...but not to pay 7-8 bucks.

^ Eh, they showed the payoff of that joke on Comedy Central last night, and it's a lot funnier with the setup being "'Walker' and 'Texas Ranger'."

The only thing I've found mildly amusing was the Wonder Bread sponsorship. Don't know why. Everything else I see from trailers, commercials, etc. hasn't been smile funny, let alone laugh out loud funny... and I'm a Ferrell fan.

I guess it all depends on the angle they take. If it's a NASCAR movie by the fans for the fans, then I'm out. If it is a movie that makes fun of NASCAR fans, $1.50.

Will is gonna be in a lot of upcoming movies...Old School 2 is in the works and Stranger than Fiction which looks different, but still good

Found this on Wonder Bread on wikipedia:

Quote :
"It was originally produced by Taggart Baking Company of Indianapolis and debuted on May 21, 1921 after "blind" promotion with ads that only stated a "Wonder" was coming on May 21, 1921. It was named by Taggart Vice President Elmer Cline who was inspired by the International Balloon Race at the Indianapolis Speedway resulting in the red, yellow and blue logo."

Didn't see anything about them making the bread out of used kleenex though.

I wasn't a big fan of Anchorman, but I'm really looking forward to seeing this. Movie tixs are $10.75 up here, but I'm still gonna go see it in theater.

saw it tonight

pretty much the only funny parts you have already seen on the commercials for it

i was overall disappointed

anchorman and wedding crashers were both 10x better than this one

i disagree, for me, the funniest parts were the real subtle jokes they threw in that made you question yourself about what you just heard.

I (and everyone that watched it tonight) laughed throughout the entire movie

Oh shut up. It wasn't that bad. If you liked what you saw in the commercials you will like what you see in the movie. Plain and simple. It was just more of the same.

I loved it, it seemed like most everyone in the theater loved it. The guy next to me stood up and the end of the movie and said loud enough for everyone around to hear him "Well that wasn't even worth a rental" and It took all I had in me to stop from saying "Dude, did you even watch the commercials? If you didn't like the looks of this movie, then why did you come?"

It was a silly, funny movie and that's it. I give it a 7/10. I can't wait for the DVD. I hope it has tons of outtakes and improv stuff they didn't use. There were some parts of the movie that they left in, that it was pretty obvious they were doing improv and that was some of the funniest parts. And of course there's outtakes at the start of the credits, that were hilarious

P.S. there's a scene after the credits, but seriously don't bother staying. It truly was unfunny. Unlike the majority of the rest of the movie.

That is where you stand up and say, "Dude, that's EXACTLY what I said about your mother. Must run in the family". Or something along those lines.

I give it a 5/10.

Anchorman and Wedding Crashers were WAY better.

I was ALL about it after seeing the commercials, but those were basically the only funny parts in the movie. Weren't too many other jokes/scenes that I hadn't seen.

Parts of this movie were filmed in my hometown, Cramerton NC, as well as Gastonia

which makes sense, since this movie makes fun of rednecks

FUCKING HILARIOUS

no the best parts are NOT in the previews, i was extremely surprised at how funny this movie was (maybe going in with low expectations helped). also its worth seeing in the theater for the wrecks/race scenes

but seriously everybody in the theater was laughing their ass off the entire way through with maybe a 20 minute lull towards the middle. also the parts in the commercials are even funnier cuz most are set=ups for better gags (i.e. ill try and wedge it out with this other knife, if we wanted siissies we would have named them dr quinn and medicine woman). chock full of quotables and im pissed ive forgotten most of them. i thought this was better than wedding crashers but i didnt see wedding crashers until after everyone else in the world thoroughly sucked its dick so it was obviously a letdown. great improv between will ferrell and ali g. i loved it, will buy the dvd so forth and so on.

Everyone always brings up Anchorman and Wedding Crashers when this kind of comedy comes up, but I still think 40 Year Old Virgin was the best of the group. Sure it's not a Will Ferrel movie, but neither is The Wedding Crashers, so I think it's fair to include it.

Half the people say they enjoy it and half say it is not good.....this must be a GREAT movie because TWW tends to object to 95% of anything (see any thread about music)

yeah it was funny, but the love story was WAYYY to drawn out in wedding crashers. at least 40yr old virgin was better paced.
