I'm talking about movies based on true historic events, which are for the most part accurate.

I saw Der Untergang recently and was blown away. This movie is up there on my list now.

That one was pretty good.

There are quite a few biopics I'd recommend, like Gandhi or Lumumba.

Others:
The Last Emperor
Lawrence of Arabia
Elizabeth

From the Earth to the Moon, the HBO miniseries that came out in 1998, is extremely good. It tells the story of the Apollo missions, and was inspired by Andrew Chaikin's book A Man on the Moon.

Battle for Algiers is a must see.

That's awesome; they're actually making a movie about him, (prepare yourself for hours of hammering bias)

No, the best historical movie is.... THE LAST SAMURAI

Spartacus was pretty good
El Naser Salah el Dine (Saladin)
Seven samurai

Fuck, there's one movie about Volt, I don't remember the name.

I really loved The Last Emperor and I liked Elizabeth.

I also liked Wyatt Earp

Wyatt erp was sick, I wish they explained some more about Bill's gang, tho. It's like they just poped out of the "red" boots.

Kingdom of Heaven - The Director's Cut is awesome, though there are several fairly significant inaccuracies. It depends on how picky you want to get.

although a great movie, the vast majority of it is fiction.

Though I'm not aware of the extent to which it is historically accurate, The Motorcycle Diaries is an excellent film.

Hahahahahaha.

But if they actually did do some time travel to dance to David Bowie, I'd be amused as hell.

To some of your discern, I doubt all the "movies" are going to be 100% accurate, it seems hollywoods time machines weren't invented in the past that could bring the actors into the future, it only works in reverse.

It does make me furious!
