They were on my basil when I got home from vacation.
They seemed to only like basil - in a pot with rosemary and oregano, they were only on the basil. All my pots were in close proximity, and the basil is all they were feasting on.

I rinsed the plants with water to get rid of them, and they haven't come back. I just want to know what they are, because they don't look like fire ants to me, and I'm nosy.

omg I had those bugs too! They weren't on basil though...they were on some unidentified plant I have on my patio...



Mine look a little more orange...but I think they are the same...

humandrive's mom confirms that they are aphids. They can come in any color, but if they have those two little things coming out of their butt they're aphids.
