Im plannin on getting some dual channel RAM should I get 2 1GB sticks or 4 512MB sticks. Which gives a better proformance.

You can blow me if you like. If you did it with your cute, I am a fat fuck and compete in eating competitions and walk like a goofy fucker mask, that'd be great.

while im sure that would fulfil some nerdly fantasy you have, ill pass

ahahahaha please tell me you were there, pleeeassseee. BTW even with the eating competition, im hardly a "fat fuck", nice try though. I'm actually running a half marathon in less than a month, and did a full marathon in April.

Another wonderful pathetic attempt to troll me after you fuck up, GG

I mean at least with gargs I know he is actually intelligent and just goads people for enjoyment, you are just kind of sad.

I say shit without even giving it any real thought. I said "the fully loaded" comment knowing you'd chime back in with your 2 cents. You think I know or give a shit what you look like? My comments are intended to garner the reply you just gave. You're so hell bent on getting validated by this website, that despite numerous upon numerous comments like this towards me

you still reply exactly how I intend for you to. What does that say about you? Please, spend a little more time trying to refute something that is by and large irrefutable.

!!!!! NEWS FLASH FOR THE NTH TIME !!!!!

PEOPLE DON'T GIVE A FUCK. THEY'D RATHER US NOT SHIT THESE THREADS UP WITH THE BICKERING.

For as smart as you apparently are, you can sometimes lack the utter capability to process even the simplest of concepts when it isn't favorable to your e ego. Keep replying, its keeping me entertained.

Yea me too, and lets see, who started shitting this and EVERY OTHER thread up by posting INCORRECT information?

That would be you, yet again making you look like more of an idiot. If you just left the site and didnt come back, we would all be better off for it, since you don't do ANYTHING of value here.

As for the validation, I enjoy helping people and I also enjoy arguing, making this site the perfect place for me. I don't need validation from this site or anyone, I already know who I am

This isn't incorrect information sir

And I don't shit up every other thread, pal. Maybe 1 a week because you're such a pompous douchebag. As much as they are annoyed by my occasional dumping on a thread, they are as equally annoyed at you being a dickhead.

I checked. The last one exactly 1 month ago. I've posted in like 15 since.

The QUESTION was

"Which gives a better proformance."

Which, while not spelled correctly, implies stability.

By you posting oh, my shit is stable with 4, it IMPLIES an answer to his question, which would be wrong. You provided at worst superfluous information and most likely misinformation merely confusing the OP even more.

Keep on shitting up threads, hopefully you'll eventually get suspended. Try some more personal attacks too, I hear that expedites the process.

And the people who think I'm a dickhead or douchebag are generally the ones who don't know what the fuck they are talking about in the first place and get their panties in a wad when I call them on it and upset their delusions of intellect. Which pretty much entirely applies to you.

So really, keep on digging that hole deeper.

better performance will be had by having 2 1gb sticks...that said, i seriously doubt you'll be doing anything where the difference between 2 1gb sticks and 4 512mb sticks will be noticeable...it might be cheaper to go with the 512mb sticks, but i don't know

i've always heard getting the bigger sticks was better

why cant you just get like 4 sticks of 1gb ram?

[Edited on August 8, 2006 at 2:17 PM. Reason : that seems like the fastest way to go]

windows is funny, while it can use 4 gigs, it only *really* uses 3 gigs max. (32bit)

i cant imagine a computer with even like 3gb's

the highest i've ever had since i've owned computers is 512, so 3gb's would be a huge upgrade

i've got 2gb of ddr2 ram and i can't get a bf2 map up and running in under a minute...ntm bf2 only uses 600mb-1gb per map (at least the standard ones) so i don't see how an extra gb or 2 would make that much difference.

I got 2GB of 667MHz DDR2 RAM on my laptop...it hasn't done much in terms of performance other than make decompressing large files faster and allowing me to run 3 operating systems at the same time.

so where do you think I would be able to purchase the most amount of RAM for the cheapest? or is there really no diff. as far as best buy or circuit city are concerned. Another thing...does the quality of the RAM really make that much of a diff. as far as no name vs. brand?

tiger direct outlet on capital (or online at http://www.tigerdirect.com/) consistently has 1gb ultra brand ram for ~$35-40...you can usually find the same kind of deal on kingston or pny at best buy or circuit city

yes, there is a difference between $35 ram and $100 ram and $200 ram...will you notice? probably not...i can play BF2 just fine with my cheapo ram
