what about donating your car to poor people? I forget the organization, but you donate cars to less fortunate people. What i would like to know is, does this org. have mechanics that put these cars into working order? Or are they given out as is? Thanks for any input

what i'm wondering is, is do they have people that volunteer to work on these cars if they have some running issues. I want to gain some car-fixing experience in my spare time, and i figured this could be a good volunteer-experience tool for me.

Most times you gotta pay for parts and the labor is free, since the students are supposed to learn from it. And you sign a contract saying if they fuck it up worse, then whoops. If you're the one looking for the experience, you can try a community college/tech program.
