Just got a 94 Explorer to replace my broken down Ranger and I am having a problem with the power windows. Some won't come down, and others are real jerky when they are coming down. The window motors are good and still work, the windows just won't roll down on their own. Any ideas? If they are off track, how simple is it to place them back where they need to be?
Thanks,
Cliff

Ford power window motors have these little plastic pieces in the middle of the driven gear in the motor. They're basically used as torque limiters/shock absorbers. After a while, the bastards just fall apart and pretty soon the damn motor runs but doesn't do its job.

Motormite (the red-packaged HELP! shit at the parts stores) carries replacement plastic pieces for the motor gear.
