^lol. On another note, you don't have to step on the clutch to start on my BMW. I thought all manual cars requiring stepping on the clutch before starting it. 8/11/2006 11:57:28 AM |

there are clutch override switches on toyota trucks that i know of, and if you pull a fuse in my jeep you can start it w/o the clutch.
older cars usually you don't have to press the clutch, it's just a safety feature so you don't starter drive ur shit into the car/whatever is in front of you. that's why they don't sell remote starts for manuals. you can make them work though, i think it might be illegal? 8/11/2006 12:21:37 PM |

id put a microswitch or two on the shifter to disable it if it is in gear if you get rid of the clutch switch 8/11/2006 3:59:00 PM |

You can totally do it. But why waste your money on that type of bullshit?
It will cease to be cool after 3 weeks anyway. 8/11/2006 4:50:15 PM |

I remember one "garage meet" a few years ago at Vincents. A guy in a blue M3 (Not on tww) came up. He had a remote start and a bunch of damn stickers all over his car. I think Ahmet was there in his silver 951. Anyway, all the remote start did was make the car seem even more riced out.
(It was a manual as well iirc) 8/11/2006 5:48:17 PM |

I just don't like the idea of my car idling unattended. I know most remote starts won't allow a thief to drive away in it, but if there's a problem and you're not there to monitor it you'll be SOL.
What happens if you lose oil pressure or the car overheats? Seems like a bad idea IMO. 8/11/2006 5:59:42 PM |
