well, personally I agree more with his views on politics, homeland security, immigration, and the economy. But I know my views will be hated by those forementioned, so I just threw that out there.

we know pundits hate hippies and homos, but why did you include nonwhites in there?

I hate sean hannity. I hate bill o'reilly.

But i do love rush limbaugh. Hannity is too party line. it's OMG I LOVE BLOWING GWBUSH OMG and that's it. O'reilly is just a tool. But Limbaugh actually speaks with conviction.

^^ I mostly included that because most of the time he gets labeled as a racist by those who disagree with his views.

O'Reilly can be an ass, but I also think he does some good things. And he usually follows through with his intentions. I like his support of Jessica's Law (i think that's what it's called) cracking down on sex offenders.

I'm frankly tired of hearing about the sex cases on o'reilly's show. I watch him for political punditry. Or, I used to watch him for political punditry.

I like how Hannity does his show with a liberal...Allen Colmes

with all the shit talk about how conservatively biased FoxNews is, how many conservatives does mediamatters.org have working for them?

^^^ Two things:

1) I like how Sean Hannity does his show with the liberal equivalent of Mr. Potato Head, too. It's a small part of the way Fox mocks its own branding as being Fair and Balanced. They may as well have given Bill Kristol a show and just picked a random, soft-spoken, PETA freshman from UC Santa Cruz to be his counterpart.

For more on this phenomenon...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_bias#Efforts_to_correct_bias

2) Let's go to the mission statements for this one...

Media Matters

Quote :
"Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media."

To summarize: Not for profit, openly leftist, acting as a monitor of news, exclusively broadcasts the content of networks instead of creating it

Fox News

Quote :
"That mission remains unchanged after half a century of expansion and improvement: the creation and distribution of top-quality news, sports and entertainment around the world"

To summarize: For profit, politically neutral, acting as a reporter of news, primarily engaged in the broadcast of news content created in-house

Are the distinctions evident, yet?

Effectively, you asking this question allows me to ask you this one: with the volumes of books, papers, and claims about how liberally biased CBS news is, how many liberals does newsbusters.org have working for them?

Or ask why an apple doesn't taste more like an orange.

If you listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, et. al. you are at best uninformed, at worst, brainwashed.

it's off-topic, but this:

Quote :
"the creation...of top-quality news"

is slightly disturbing, considering it's part of the mission of several media outlets. reporters shouldn't be "creating" news...

I love Rush's spin on the news, he's always informative and entertaining. Hannity does get repetitive and dull after awhile. Boortz is fine until he starts insulting religion in general.

I like to listen to Rush, but I wish he would get on the satellite radio bandwagon, or just simulcast on XM. I can't fucking stand listening to his show on those scratchy/terrible AM stations. Blech.

Pundits are for people who a)can't form their own opinions on the news or b)like to pat themselves on the back for agreeing with someone moderately famous.

^that too, and thats the main problem. people who only belive global warming b/c al gore says so are just as bad as people every word that comes out of a pundit's mouth and takes it as the ultimate truth.

oh, and as for rush:

Truthfully, I think he's a cool guy for the most part. I like that he is a fan of whistleblowers and is willing to break from the rest of the pundits, who are just puppets of the party. Recently, he blasted Israel for their indiscriminate bombing of Lebanon and chewed out some doucher that called in to complain about him playing music from Germany on the show (because Germany is an evil socialist country).

But in the end, he's horribly prejudice against homosexuals, feminists, and immigrants, so he's a dick.

I like Rush. He's entertaining and probably the most talented radio host on the air. Too bad he uses his talent to make awful arguments in favor of an awful ideology.

Savage can choke on a porkrind for all I care. I don't care if he's serious or not-- he's encouraging some severely ignorant people to become even worse. The man's in favor of Muslim concentration camps for God's sake, and people eat it up. I think it's an act, but doing this type of crap for the money is worse than if he were actually serious.

O'Reilly and Hannity need to choke on Limbaugh's dick. They're hacks.

I like to listen to savage every once in a while because he never sugar coats anything. Not to say i agree with him, but it is fun to listen to him argue with people, and say that he lives in "San fran-sissy-co"
