I don't know about 2.1 seconds, but the Ford RS200 Evolution had been listed in the Guinness Book for more than a decade at 3.06 seconds as the fastest accelerating production vehicle (not racing).

So, was it a production car? If so, how come it isn't mentioned more when people talk about records and stuff? I was, and still am, under the impression that it was a race car detuned for road use.

Anyway, email bruce@canepa.com and ask how much it is!

BTW, that website http://www.canepa.com has some amazing and historical original racing cars for sale, Porsche 935 and 962, a GT40, couple of NASCAR cars, a Nissan GTP, and some more, as well as some rare street cars, like the Porsche 959, Buggatti EB 110s, etc. Check out the CLS 55 AMG, it is freakin gorgeous.

It was a rally car and yes it was fast as shit and it was in production. They stopped making them because they got rid of that class for rally racing (B class or something)

its not mentioned because it was never sold in the US, and didn't sell too well in Europe either. So not many people know about it. It was and still is an AMAZING series of cars though, and I'd kill for one to track.

Dude

I'll take OEP making threads about exotics over hearing idiots talk about shitty 540i's, civics, integras and trucks.

I've always thought this car was a beautiful example of how Ford Europe kicks Ford USA's ass. I got the RS200 in Rally Challenge 2 on the XBox, and drove it most of the rest of the game. It was a fun little beast

it's my daily until i'm finished w/ the s52 rebuild, maybe a track car after that, or maybe I'll resell it.

This is a rare edition of the RS200. These cars were homologation specials for Group B rally. About 20ish examples were tuned to become the Evo cars. Nice, rare cars that hall ass. But during the time of group b, Audi was the best. They stated after the demise of Group B that they were working on a 1,000 hp motor for their all wheel drive beast the Quattro. Toyota also did something like this. They produced a 500+hp all wheel drive mr2 that was to see action in Group B. There are supposedly 3 examples with only one with 4x4/all wheel drive. Check out his link for info: http://www.stormloader.com/groupb/audi.html
