I am registered for Water Step Aerobics this fall, and I have a question regarding the grading for the course. The syllabus online said there was a flexibility test, curl ups, water jog, etc. Are these graded based on how well you do, or are they based on your improvement from the beginning of the course to the end? Has anyone taken this course and know how hard it is and what all you do? Thanks!

are you actually taking it for a grade, or just pass/fail? i don't know if this really applies, but i took pe101, and we had a few different things we were graded on, like lats, running, leg press, etc etc. each one was graded on a scale that was different for males and females. the worst you could do on either was like a 60 i think? so maybe that's how this class works? i would recommend taking pass/fail though if you can. it's much easier in my opinion.

Yeah, I am planning to take it pass/fail, but I was just wondering how it was graded.

ive taken 3 pe classes, and each graded you on how well you did in push-up and sit up tests. then there were easy things, like lifting properly. and usually the actual activitiy you do (running/swimming/badminton) grades you on improvement either entirely or mostly.

of course there is the written part too, and that is always easy. i would have made all A's, but i keep taking these classes pass/fail.

From my experiences in the (distance) aerobics, the push ups, curl ups and flexibility tests were absolute. however, the step test which measured your peak and recovery heart rate did measure improvement.
