^ Yeah, that's why I like your thread better. I'm sure glad I'm not at home in Cary right now. Boiling all my water sounds like a pain in the ass.

I just won't be washing dishes until they tell me all clear bc that really seems like the pain...

^I don't drink tap water either but I thought that displayed the urgency... I'll be using bottled water to brush my teeth though...

You can shower. Just don't gargle while you're in there.

I drank the tap water nonstop when I lived in Cary. Thankfully I don't live there anymore.

Unsafe quantities...which means there are usually safe quantities of e. coli in the water to begin with.

why the hell is Cary evil?

Believe me, when you don't feel like living in shitholes inside the beltline anymore, Cary and N. Raleigh will start to look really nice.

I don't understand this-- I went to Abbey Road last night, and they were definitely not closed-- was it just certain restaurants in Cary that were closed or something?

^Well, AR isn't in the "ok" part and I had tea with ice in it... maybe they made the ice out of bottled water

I really don't care about this water thing, honestly, I just think it's weird that they were open.

I doubt anyone will get sick from this.

I'm not a scientist. How probable is it for a single home in a sample of 40 would test positive for this? Next question: How many samples have taken in the past without any issues? Seems weird it is just the one home.

http://www.townofcary.org/news/news2006/boilwaternotice1.htm

Basically, at 7:00 p.m. they decided that all restaurants were to be closed. I don't think every restaurant would know about it in time to close, but I don't know if they contacted people or what. At around midnight they lifted the notice from a large portion of Cary, but it is still in effect for the most part.

For what it's worth, I had some soda from Cary before I heard the announcement, and I'm fine.

It's like you would actually go to the resturaunts and order a tap water based product on purpose.

Yah, they contacted a few of the resturaunt owners I know, some they didn't even bother with.

^Not sure if I understand your sentence but the main reason for closing the resturants is because they cannot wash dishes and people (read: cooks & employees) cannot wash their hands with the tap water....

If it were just a *drinking* tap water issue I'm sure most places would still be open.
