heh, it's not like i have a collection at home of such videos

whenever some idiot blows himself up, and leaves behind a video, various news stations, including cnn and bbc, broadcast parts of them when they are discovered.

the 7/7 london bombers mentioned iraq as the reason they blew themselves up, and said more attacks would happen in the future.

and sure enough, now 23 people are in custody. guess what, their martyrdom videos have also been found on confiscated laptops. i bet when they are made public, they will say the same thing.

^^ This is true; I like to think, though, that anyone who is interested in the matter and wishes to have an opinion would look at all available information and try to understand where the "terrorists" are coming from. But, I agree, most people won't actually do this.

It's just that, well, our media doesn't go out of its way to make sure we see martyrdom videos. That's really it.

^ Ideally, they find it themselves. But being honest about it, few people learn to actually see both sides of a debate. They see and understand the side they like, and then develop a rudimentary enough understanding of the other to argue with it.

I wish more people would take the broader view. Then we might not see so many people radicalized by such small ideas that there aren't enough left to radicalize towards solving the bigger problems in the world.

so let's say you are a rich white guy and a poor black guy attacks you, and when he is arrested and interrogated, he says he did it because you are rich.

are you going to go around claiming he did it because he is black?
