anybody taken it, heard anything about it?

I checked school tool and there's nothing.

I was a TA for Kaltoffen and he is really nice. Don't know anything about the class though.

I took the class with him but dropped it after the first few weeks

it really depends how much you like math and computer science. 351 is the MA section of a math class that's usually CSC. I didn't like him, the first 2 weeks he was doing really easy stuff with the fibonnacci sequence, then the next day BAM he busts out with a 4 dimensional hypercube and hamming distance and all this crazy crap. He didn't teach it very well. And he wants us to do homework about this hypercube that's not like any other math I've done before.

He seemed pretty friendly though, and if you have a German last name he'll like you even more.

Took his number theory class. Awesome prof. Pretty funny and very helpful during office hours. You should probably have a sense of humor if you take his class though.
