I need to place some new bearings in a yota engine and was wondering if anyone had a torque wrench so that i could torque the rod caps to specs. Thanks 8/25/2006 5:11:49 PM |

pick up a cheap one at northern, its worth it even if you dont use it that much, no need to get an expensive one for using a few times a year, i have an old craftsman you could use if you want, i'm not sure how accurate it stil is, i dont even loan out my snap-on to my dad 8/25/2006 7:21:00 PM |

Several autoparts stores let you borrow tools with a refundable deposit. 8/26/2006 12:58:04 PM |

When you can pick up a torque wrench for under 20 dolla from Harbor Freight (and they are roughly the same quality that you can get for 35 elsewhere)...why would you NOT own one?
They may be a little inaccurate, but not grossly so. Most bearings give you a torque range to begin with, and the big thing is consistency when you're torquing a head or a bottom end. 8/27/2006 1:40:32 PM |

if you buy a cheap one you are just borrowing it anyhow. the difference is when you take it back to the store (and you will be taking it back) they give you another one. 8/27/2006 1:47:34 PM |

I have two of those motherfuckers. I haven't broken one yet. I've even been using one of them as a fucking breaker bar. 8/27/2006 1:49:53 PM |
