My fiance and I are looking for an apartment in Raleigh near Crabtree/Glenwood area. We are looking for a SAFE area and are looking a fairly NICE apartment complexes.

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about these four complexes or any other good places:
Camden Overlook (on leadmine road)
Lynn Crest (on Lynn Road)
Inman Park (on leadmine road)
Northpark (on Duraleigh road)

THANKS!

Definately not one of the most expensive places, but so far its been great (minus one small incident which management fixed immediately) would be Crabtree Valley Apts. Large apts, moderately priced, and all of our neighbors have been great so far -- definately worth a visit to at least check them out. and no, I am in no way affiliated with them.

PM me with any questions you might have

PS my girlfriend lives in Camden Overlook as well, this is her 2nd year there, I'd be happy to relay any questions you might have for her.

All of those apartment complexes are safe.

NICE is a different word. You can decide that on your own. But I think they're plenty nice, unless you're a racist.

lived at northpark for a year, never had a problem, good quiet apartments with a nice pool, clubhouse and gym. Although, we moved out right after new mangagement came in, so I can't vouch for them.

We live in Inman Park and love it. Its quiet. We've had no problems living here and the apartments themselves are a lot nicer than anything else we found.

Try Pinnacle, it is right behind Crabtree (look in the Apt. Book for an address). I never got a chance to look at them because none were available at the time, but they look nice. Its in a very wooded area so it makes it feel like you aren't really in the city (if thats what your looking for).

Camden Overlook isn't bad - I had my car stereo stolen there last summer, but otherwise the apartments are pretty nice. There aren't a lot of students, which is a positive, but some of the buildings had some pretty sketch residents in and out at odd hours. They do have a nice pool area and an adequate fitness center and the office staff is usually pretty nice, although it can be a bit tough to get maintenance issues dealt with in a timely manner.

I would look into Camden Manor off Edwards Mill instead of Camden Overlook. It's newer and I've yet to witness the bullshit that goes on at the Overlook.

Camden Manor does have more of a college crowd, but Camden Overlook has some very sketchy residents. My truck was vandalized twice. One night someone broke off the side view mirror. The other night someone broke into it and fucked up the seats.

During basketball season, every kid in a 5 mile radius comes to use the basketball court at night. The gym turns into a high school hang out and the kids tear the equipment up.

Two of the girls that work at Overlook are complete morons. I actually have to call them today, because they have not sent me my 400 dollar deposit back.

really? wouldn't have thought that with how expensive it is.

But I looked there and it was pretty nice and in a relatively nice area.

Thats where I lived while in college. It's kind of on the edge of Raleigh by Cary (which was rated one of the safest cities). The apartment complex has mostly families and some college students. If you go for the biggest townhouse option then it will be kind of nice (probably still not what you're looking for, but since its the only apartment complex I experienced in Raleigh, I'm mentioning it).

Shellbrook Apts off of Millbrook. I lived there about 3 years ago. They are older but well maintained and never had any problems.

^^ For my complex, those prices are a bit off. the total is within $15 though. Rent is lower than posted, but internet/cable we buy through time warner and it costs a little more (but is much better quality) than the one provided by the apt. complex. Also, electricity isn't included, so that adds in, but all told, we within $15 of those prices.
