I want something small, no SUVs...I am selling my Jeep.

To give you an idea of what I have looked for, I have looked at a Saturn Sky, a Honda Sedan and a Scion tC.

I want something for under 25K, preferably with HP between 160-210...nothing too slow and nothing too fast.

My IDEAL price would be 17/18K

Give me some suggestions for cars to check out.

mazda 3 hatchback - more practical than a civic and from all reports not bad to drive

the scion tc isn't a bad idea either

the saturn sky will be above your 17-18k range

Honda Civic Si Sedan is coming out very soon, with 200 hp. Right around 20K.

Wait for it.

Mazda MazdaSpeed 3 also coming out very soon, with 230 hp. Around 23K.

the saturn sky is in the 25-28 range, but they are backordered and I want to get something relatively soon.

Anyone have any experience with the Honda Civic Sedan?

Coming from a honda/toyota guy,

Honda S2000
Honda Civic (great little city cars)
Toyota Corolla S
Subaru WRX (good power)
Lexus SC300 / SC400 (nice car, maybe too big)
Lexus GS400 (again, probably too big)
Mazdaspeed Miata (fun, little room though)
Ford Focus SVT (I like hatchbacks a lot)
Dodge SRT-4 (not a big fan personally)
Nissan 240sx (for that price you could get like 3 really good ones)
Scion TC (I don't like it much, but it's a yota)
Ford Mustang Cobra

Hondas are great cars normally, mechanically they are close to perfect. However, I don't think their interior quality is that great, and their bodies dent easily.

I've had friends who have had bad experience with Mazda 3's (plus imo the miata is much more fun)

What is the max miles and minimum year model in a car are you looking for?
This should narrow down the list dramatically.

07 Civic SI sedan doesnt come out till Nov 1st

and like the 06 SI coupes they will most likely be on backorder

I have heard many good things about the SI coupe, and the SI sedan is the same exact thing only with 4 doors

Mazda 3speed is suppose to be nice but i dont trust mazda and the handling sucks from what i have heard

what do you want... car that is somewhat fast and handles well, car that is fast but doesnt handle so good?

the thing is that si sedan.. looks too fast

it looks 10 times faster than it is.

that mazda speed three will have shit-tons of torque over the mentioned new cars (wrx new i don't think is in your price range)

but if it doesn't have to be new i'd get a wrx

I got the Civic 2D coup in EX instead. A little cheaper, but also fully loaded.

good choice

i am toying with the idea of trading my 05 ex in for the 07 SI

no need for navigation as i would never use it and if i was i want something that is portable

have you driven it in the rain yet?

how is it getting used to that windshield wipers?

[Edited on September 7, 2006 at 2:38 PM. Reason : thats a pretty quick turn around itme for the order, they have it on the lot?]

i meant the windshield wipers in the sense that they arent the conventional motion, as most cars... they are the ones that both swipe to the outside as opposed to both moving in the same direction

i think that would bother me
